On Tuesday 10th March 2026 the Royal Albert Hall will burst with the sound of over 1,500 young musicians from Merton schools and MMF Music Centres and Wimbledon Community Chorus has the great privilege of joining this amazing performance.
The theme of this year’s concert is ‘Lookin’ Up’, featuring a specially commissioned suite of music called ‘Lookin’ Up – The Story of Flight’.
The evening will feature performances from the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, London Vocal Project, Derek Paravicini alongside some extraterrestrial surprises. Expect many astronomical favourites and the premier of new works from composers Pete Churchill, Olivia Murphy, Raph Clarkson, Lulu Vallejo and Adam Cracknell.
Doors will open at 6:15pm with live music taking place in the hall as a curtain raiser from 6:30pm and the concert starts at 7pm.
There will be a 30 minute interval, the concert is expected to finish at 10pm.

Every year, Wimbledon Community Chorus nominates a charity to support over the coming year.
This year we have selected The Amber Trust, a local charity with national impact. They have been providing musical opportunities for blind and partially sighted children, and children with more complex needs, via its Music Awards and Music Services for 30 years.
We look forward to working with them where 'Music is not just a pastime, it is a lifeline'.

We are very excited to be starting a new term, with a new repertoire. Our member's survey results will be presented at our upcoming AGM, and it is good to see so many responding that the choir is so much fun and gives such a strong sense of community to all.
If you are not already a member and are considering joing a local choir, please come along for a rehearsal and join in or observe. We will make you feel welcome and the trial session is free.
We look forward to seeing you soon.
